Early Years Foundation Stage
At George Eliot we provide a safe and inclusive environment where children are happy and enjoy coming to school. We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which enables each child to develop personally, socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, creatively and intellectually to his or her full potential. Each child is valued as an individual and teaching and learning is based on the understanding that children develop at different rates.
More information about the Early Years at George Eliot can be found in our Handbooks and EYFS Policy:
We have also produced some helpful Social Stories for children who are joining our Nursery or Reception. These show photographs of the adults your child/children will be working with, as well as photographs of our learning environment. The Social Story talks through the school day using helpful visuals. Parents and carers shared that these Social Stories really helped prepare their child for starting at our school and supported a smooth transition into our setting.
