Reopening Information - September 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Re: Confirmed reopening of school for all pupils – September 2020

We hope you are well. As you may know, the Government have instructed schools to prepare for the reopening of school to all pupils, in all year groups. Children will be back with their own class and be part of a year group or phase bubble. Bubbles will continue to remain distanced from other year group or phase bubbles.

Please see the plan from Monday 7th September:

Start Date

Year Group

Start Time

Finish Time

Monday 7th September

Tuesday 8th September

Y1, Y2, Y3

Wednesday 9th September

Y4, Y5, Y6

The staggered start dates and times above will help to settle children back into school but also to social distance, where possible.

When children arrive at school, they will be welcomed at the gate and will meet their class teacher in a designated area in the playground before they go in to class. If you have children in different year groups, please arrive together at the earliest start time.

Parents/carers will not be able to enter the site and will be asked to socially distance drop off and pick up. Parents/carers must be on time to drop off and pick up children.
A detailed risk assessment has been completed. To comply with COVID-19 guidance each one of us will have to follow specific instructions when all pupils return to school; to ensure everyone remains safe and well. This includes staff, children, parents and carers and potential visitors to school e.g. contractors. The office will be open but all contact should be via telephone or email.

Children will need to wear school uniform in the autumn term.

Each child should bring a large water bottle to use throughout the day which can be filled up in school. Please minimise what children bring to and from school. Reading books will be sent home from the autumn term.

If your child has a school lunch, a hot meal will be provided each day.

If your child or anyone in the household displays COVID-19 symptoms, children must not return to school and should follow Government guidance on isolation. If you suspect a child or a member of your household has COVID-19, please dial 111.

COVID-19 symptoms:
A high temperature

A new continuous cough this means coughing a lot, for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing
episodes in 24 hours

a loss or change to sense of smell or taste this means they cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

As always, the safety and wellbeing of every pupil is at the heart of all that we do and every decision we make. We hope you have an enjoyable and restful summer and look forward to welcoming pupils back in September.

If you have any questions, please do get in touch.

Don’t forget to read every day and play!

Best wishes,
